August 19th, 2019 – High expansion foam generator DN300

The “MISTRAL 300” foam generator is mainly made of aluminium alloy with a stainless steel turbine that allows permanent operation, which is not the case with competing models equipped with plastic turbines.

August 5th, 2019 – The benefits of fiber optics

The deployment of the optical fiber on our Nogent-sur-Seine site has enabled us to increase from around 30 Mbps to 200 Mbps.

We notice a significant difference when we use software such as skype for videoconferencing with our customers or our teams abroad. Similarly, sending large files now works very well.

Every year at this time (June, July, August), the authorities complain of untimely sampling of hydrants that dry up water supplies and create additional risks with slippery roads.

June 17th, 2019 – The JUPITER robot

With its experience in the manufacture of fire-fighting equipment, POK® wanted to create a robot that could perform technical feats while remaining extremely easy to handle: the JUPITER was born.

June 10th, 2019 – Making a nozzle explained by a firefighter

June 3rd, 2019 – Low expansion foam

Low-expansion foam generators operate with a pre-mix feed. The foam nozzle converts the supply pressure into speed with the air suction function which vigorously agitates to produce the foam sprayed from a distance.

May 27th, 2019 – My internship in mechanical engineering

As a student in the 2nd and last year of a program called Mechanical and Production Engineering (GMP) in Troyes, it is necessary for me to do a 10-week internship for a professional immersion and to be able to apply my knowledge. CRAN welcomed me for this final internship in its design office, where I was able to see the difference between the university and the professional world through the transition from theory to practice.

May 6th, 2019 – Monitors

POK® builds a wide range of monitors. Originally these devices were intended to use pressures and flows beyond the range of portable equipment, whether by one or more firefighters.

April 2nd, 2019 – Wrenches

The security services are responsible for all wrenches intended to access the opening of doorways, cabinet doors, manholes and the tightening and loosening of couplings , as well as hydrants and fire hydrants.  Concerning the wrenches used to tighten the couplings, POK® manufactures a wide range of them, which in general have the particularity of being made out of a non-sparking material such as copper-aluminium and aluminium alloy.

March 4th, 2019 – Dividers

POK® manufactures valve dividers. These devices are used to supply several lines of attack from a single pump. Valves are used either to disconnect the power supply to an appliance or to replace it during operation with more appropriate equipment.

February 18th, 2019 – Towable monitors

In the 1990s, portable monitors had a maximum capacity of 3000 liters per minute. To exceed this flow rate, it was necessary to use towable monitors.

February 4th, 2019 – Mobile foam units

POK® created its first mobile foam unit as part of a fire equipment order in 1982. This equipment is used to protect factories, petroleum deposits, and high-risk installations. It involves a minimum training of the staff in fire attack department.

January 21rst, 2019 – Around the pump injector

The British designation is more meaningful: “injector around the pump”.

It is an ingenious mechanism in the way that the premixing takes place without loss of pressure, which makes it possible to supply a foam branchpipe at a long distance from the emulsifier container.

Optimised according to the percentage of aspirated product, its viscosity and the duration of the operation, there are several techniques for proportionally mixing various liquids.
The simplest, least expensive and most used by firefighters uses the Venturi effect.

January 7th, 2019 – Various couplings

Since 1977 POK® has been building fire couplings in accordance with the various standards existing on the planet, or sometimes outside the standards as for Storz DN200 and 250 couplings. Thus you can buy “Barcelona” couplings, British Instantaneous couplings in DN45 and DN70, American fire couplings, 3-piece non-symmetrical screw couplings with very good pressure resistance.
